Beating the ATS
The applicant tracking system gets talked about like a black box that silently tosses your resume before a human ever sees it. Some of that fear is earned, and a lot of it is myth.
In reality the ATS is mostly a parser: it reads your file, tries to make sense of the structure, and passes along what it can. Where people get burned is formatting it cannot read, not some AI deciding they are unworthy.
This is where we take it apart. You will find what actually trips up the parser, like multiple columns and buried dates, why a strict single column layout reads cleanly, and how to win the six second human skim that comes right after the machine is done.
Passing the ATS and impressing the recruiter are two different jobs, and you need both.
The goal is to help you understand what the system is really doing so you stay in control of how you are read, by the software and the person.
Start with whatever is tripping you up right now.
